Objective: To determine whether using 12.5° Slocum-like triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO) plates would create sufficient femoral head coverage and lower the occurrence of overrotation compared with using 20° TPO plates in dogs with hip dysplasia.

Study design: Prospective clinical study.

Sample population: Thirty-five dogs with hip dysplasia (38 hips).

Objective: To determine whether microwave ablation (MWA) modifies the biomechanical properties of the normal distal radius in the dog to better estimate the clinical impact of MWA as a tool for the treatment of neoplastic bone lesions.

Study design: Biomechanical experimental study.

Sample population: Sixteen pairs of dog forelimbs from 16 canine cadavers.

Although the goat is an established animal model in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) research, in-vivo kinematics associated with ACL deficiency have not been previously described in this species.

Objective: To describe a novel surgical approach to treat a critical-sized bone defect due to severe, radial atrophic nonunion in a miniature dog.

Study design: Case report ANIMAL: A 1-year-old Yorkshire terrier with a critical-sized left radial defect after failed internal fixation of a transverse radial fracture.

A 5 yr old male neutered Labrador retriever was evaluated for an 8 wk history of a slowly progressive abnormal hind limb gait that did not respond to treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories.

Initial examination findings were mild pelvic limb ataxia and moderate right pelvic limb lameness. A computed tomography with a myelogram was performed and showed a suspected intramedullary spinal mass. MRI was conducted and supported the computed tomography with myelogram findings of a possible intradural spinal mass at L1.
